My creative space = my creative headache

Right then. The man quilt. Did a bit of a test. Can't work out if it's working out or not. Is it a bit hippy? This is supposed to be really quite manly, so maybe the random pieces aren't doing it? And as for sewing the silk velvet - have you ever known a fabric to misbehave quite so badly? I resorted to holding the seam together with masking tape and sewing through that. What do I do?! So, please, my loves! If you can find it in your hearts, help is required:

1) Can this hold its head up as a man quilt for a very metrosexual man? If not, what approach should I take? Loving the fabrics (and they cost a small fortune) but this has to ROCK.

2) How on god's earth am I supposed to integrate silk velvet into this without it looking so, well, amateur? I love the way it looks all mooshed up (technical term) but lets face it, it's not going to be seen like that very often...

  1. LOVING the man quilt! The materials/colours look great - especially those occasional green and orange. My husbands comment was 'oh I like that...that would look great on a good piece of modern furniture'. So thats a double thumbs up from us. Neither of us is mad keen on the pink...

  4. Phew! Ok, so general opinion is that it's a go-er :-). And thank you Kt for harnessing an actual man's opinion LOL. Roger that on the pink, it's not actually as lairy as the photo suggests but point taken.

  6. The colors and design are all good. Be proud it is hard to sew with different textures but the purply pink bit is a bit iffy. I hope that helps :)
